Adam Gadahn Alive

We've all been hearing for sometime now that Adam Gadahn was dead. My sources continued to tell me no such thing. He has been in contact with Al Qaeda's number two, Ayman al Zawahiri through most of the summer. A US airstrike in Feb. 2008 in Waziristan led most in the intelligence community to believe he was dead.. Well where has Adam Gadahn been all of this time and why didn't he come forward before now. My sources say the explanation is very simple, he couldn't come forward until his beard grew back. Quite obviously right after that strike he went into his Western mode. Yes, Adam does pose as a Westerner when he is not doing PR for Al Qaeda. Who would better fit the bill as a Westerner than a Westerner, he certainly knows all of the ins and outs. In his 32 minute 7 second video tape he does occassionally touch his mustache, this is not coincidental, his mustache and beard are a big part of his disguise and have a lot to do with his locations. When he touches his mustache he's making reference to people that he will need to meet and where he will meet them. Of course Al Qaeda operatives that are close to him know his exact locations while he poses as a Westerner. Right after the US airstrike in Feb. Adam did spend most of his time in the Kashmir area, he seem to be held up in what could be considerd an infirmary by American standards, being taken care of by women that would be considered Catholic nuns in America judging by the way they dress. He returned to Pakistan in the past couple of months and has recently moved closer to the Afghan border. A couple of months ago al Zawahiri made it clear that he remains close to Adam Gadahn and he does remain in the top leadership role of Al Qaeda, third in line to him. He has really risen in the ranks from the days when he was simply a courrier for Usama bin Laden. There were times when Adam only served as a person who would meet Usama bin Laden and make it possible for him to be able to use a laptop. In those days their were three of them, one with the laptop, one with the cell phone and one who delivered the video tapes. At that time Usama bin Laden spent most of his time near the Kashmir boarder, the place that Adam Gadahn makes continued reference to in this video. Being the Westerner that he is he's also had quite a bit of influence in the British operations of Al Qaeda. Yes, it's easy for Adam Gadahn to slip in and out of a lot of places. Having said all of that, he does not have much contact with Usama bin Laden anymore, his mentor is al Zawahiri.

Qaeda Declares Cyber Jihad on the West DEBKAfile "In a special Internet announcement in Arabic, picked up by DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources, Osama bin Laden’s followers announced Monday the launching of Electronic Jihad. On Sunday, November 11, al Qaeda’s electronic experts will start attacking Western, Jewish, Israeli, Muslim apostate and Shiite Web sites. On Day One, they will test their skills against 15 targeted sites and expand the operation from day to day thereafter until hundreds of thousands of Islamist hackers are in action against untold numbers of anti-Muslim sites." It seems as though we just can't get ahead. Do we really believe that al Qaeda did not know about the leak with SITE long before the video leak to the White House. I think our naiveness is what causes us to remain on step behind. My sources told me the same day the video was released that there would be a black out. "DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources report that, shortly after the first announcement, some of al Qaeda’s own Web sites went blank, apparently crashed by the American intelligence computer experts tracking them. The next day, Oct. 30, they were up again, claiming their Islamic fire walls were proof against infidel assault...In effect al Qaeda is retaliating against Western intelligence agencies’ tactics, which detect new terrorist sites and zap them as soon as they appear. Until now, the jihadists kept dodging the assault by throwing up dozens of new sites simultaneously. This kept the trackers busy and ensured that some of the sites survived, while empty pages were promptly replaced...Now Bin Laden’s cyber legions are fighting back. The electronic war they have declared could cause considerable trouble on the world’s Internet."

Getting It Right

Here we are again. Last week we thought Al Qaeda was planning an attack in Germany when all along they were planning to capture American troops in Iraq. Yes there was a lot of chatter but we have not figured out how to decipher that chatter. By now we have to know that Iraqi soldiers are working closely with Al Qaeda and when the US surges so does Al Qaeda. We here talk of the US holding meetings with Iraq's neighbors but as much as we don't want to hear it there will come a time when Al Qaeda will have to be a part of those discussions. I know I will be blasted for saying that, but I'm looking further down the road and looking at what drew us into this situation knowing that's what will get us out. It's difficullt to see now because of all that's going on but to end the war in Iraq does not end the war with Al Qaeda, and by Al Qaeda I mean Osama bin Laden. We know this has spread way beyond our control and it has to come to a stop there has to be someone to stand up and say, no more bloodshed, and that person will have to be Osama bin Laden. If we don't do it before he is captured or killed the situation will be worst than we know it today. We cannot to allow stubborness to continue to tear the world apart. The world situation is a new one and all avenues have to be tried to bring an end to the fighting.
