अल Leak

Previous Page E-Mail This Page Print Current News Leak Severed a Link to Al-Qaeda's Secrets By Joby Warrick Published in: Washington Post October 9, 2007 A small private intelligence company that monitors Islamic terrorist groups obtained a new Osama bin Laden video ahead of its official release last month, and around 10 a.m. on Sept. 7, it notified the Bush administration of its secret acquisition. It gave two senior officials access on the condition that the officials not reveal they had it until the al-Qaeda release. Within 20 minutes, a range of intelligence agencies had begun downloading it from the company's Web site. By midafternoon that day, the video and a transcript of its audio track had been leaked from within the Bush administration to cable television news and broadcast worldwide. CRISIS

Here we are again. I don't write often but when I do it is to point out what's being missed. Did we not hear that Hamas has tried to restore order in Palestine and that Zawahiri is in support of that. Does this not further prove my theory that peace is what Osama Bin Laden is after. Are we still missing the fact that Al Qaeda could be reacting to what's being done and said about them. Is peace or a truce the only thing we have not tried. Yes, it is a big chance to take but if nothing else is working let's at least try it. Remember, we have not heard from Osama since he offered a truce to President George Bush. What would this entail. My sources say Osama wants his own state, his own land. If we do this we can hold them accountable for any agreement reached in order to make this happen. One thing we know for sure he is a man of his word. Does this necessarily mean admitting defeat, no it means we want peace as well, if we say at any cost, this will prove it, not the death toll continuing to mount. We know we are definitely headed in the wrong direction in Iraq and other parts of the Middle East and how easy it will be to turn it all around.

Getting It Right

Here we are again. Last week we thought Al Qaeda was planning an attack in Germany when all along they were planning to capture American troops in Iraq. Yes there was a lot of chatter but we have not figured out how to decipher that chatter. By now we have to know that Iraqi soldiers are working closely with Al Qaeda and when the US surges so does Al Qaeda. We here talk of the US holding meetings with Iraq's neighbors but as much as we don't want to hear it there will come a time when Al Qaeda will have to be a part of those discussions. I know I will be blasted for saying that, but I'm looking further down the road and looking at what drew us into this situation knowing that's what will get us out. It's difficullt to see now because of all that's going on but to end the war in Iraq does not end the war with Al Qaeda, and by Al Qaeda I mean Osama bin Laden. We know this has spread way beyond our control and it has to come to a stop there has to be someone to stand up and say, no more bloodshed, and that person will have to be Osama bin Laden. If we don't do it before he is captured or killed the situation will be worst than we know it today. We cannot to allow stubborness to continue to tear the world apart. The world situation is a new one and all avenues have to be tried to bring an end to the fighting.

counterterrorism: Osama bin Laden

counterterrorism: Osama bin Laden It is still my belief that Osama would like to be able to talk...negotiate with the US to put an end to all of the terrorism. I strongly believe that. We as US citizens are so brainwashed into believing that he only wants to kill us, that's all we ever here. Not taking up for him, but I do believe he see's himself as a leader as well, even though we consider him and his group terrorists, and only having one way of thinking regardless of what happens, he could put an end to all of this. Granted at this point we would still have to deal with homegrown, as well as imitators, but something could be worked out. I firmly believe it is worth a shot. Nothing else is working, if anything matters are getting worse. It would be the hardest thing in the world our president has ever had to do, and we don't know if he has the muscle or the humbleness to see the possibilities. Of course these words are difficult for lots of people at this stage but it doesn't hurt to try an entertain other possibilities. The only way to win this militarily is by destroying the world and what for...pride. Let's be big boys and talk to President Ahmadinejahd and see where we can go from here. I say these words with great sincerety and love for the people around the world that I don't know and for the well being of those that I do.
